Our Kit

Today, out kit arrived in the mail! We are very excited to start building, but today we need to answer some questions about our project so far.

1. How has your group been successful in the planning stages of your project?
In our planning stages we think that we have been very successful. We made a rough copy with an NXT robot. This helped us vision what our final project will look like at the end. Also, we inventoried all of the parts from the kit we got in.

2. What has your group identified as oversights in the planning stages of your project? How have you tried to correct this?
We changed our plan by deciding to do the NXT. Before, we did not have enough planning, so we built a rough draft with an NXT. Another oversight was that our kit took so long to come in, which we did not expect.

3. What are some of the challenges that your group has faced? Why? How have you problem solved these challenges?
One challenge that we faced was that we thought that we were ready to start building, but our useless machine kit was not in yet. We solved it by planning more, so that when it came in, which it did, we would be ready to build.

4. Identify the skills that your group been successful at implementing? How has that helped the group?
We have been successful at planning so far. Otherwise, we haven't started doing any other steps to our project yet. The planning has helped us by preparing us for our challenges to come, now that our kit is in.

5. Identify the skills that your group needs to improve on? How will you do this?
We need to improve on equal workload and staying on task. We can do this by effectively communicating with each other so that we are all well informed with what is happening with our project.

Useless. . .

Our Blog for making our "useless" Machine is coming along well. We hope that the kit with the supplies we ordered will come next week so we can get started with our project and stop posting useless stuff.

Our Second Post

This is our second post, starting to explain how the box works. When you flick the switch, it allows electricity to flow to the motor which can then turn allowing the arm to come out of the box, opening the half of the lid with hinges on it, and turning the switch the other way which allows the motor to turn the other way, placing the arm back in the box.

Check back soon for more information and updates on our challenge!
